ADRIENNE NADEAU

Spoken Word Poet & Performer

fall fury

Adrienne Nadeau (AKA: The Warrior Woman) was born with ink running through her veins and it is rumored that her first words were poetry. This internationally known Spoken Word Artist found her calling in 2004 and hasn’t gotten off the stage since. She uses her creative talents to explore her religious background, speak about women's rights, and vent about her ex-boyfriends.

After earning a degree in writing, and training with Creative Clay and the Missouri Arts Alliance, Adrienne Nadeau became a Teaching Artist for Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. She is now one of the few full-time spoken word poets in the country.

Toronto, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco and many more cities have hosted the international poetess. After a successful nation tour, Adrienne is happy to say that she has spit at both ends of the country. When she's at home, you can find her performing at diverse Tampa Bay venues, such as AMP @ Studio 620, and Sacred Sounds, to name a few.

March 2008 brought "The Warrior Woman". With 23 tracks and over an hour of spoken word, this collection is the result of 3 years of growth as a poet and a performer.

Other Accomplishments: Opened for Malcolm Jamaal Warner; Shared a stage with 4 HBO Def Poets; Volunteered for The Great American Teach In (2007, 2008 & 2009); Performed and lectured for University of Tampa's "Writing For Alternative Performance Class" (three years in a row!)
